Straight arrow spraypainted on pavement in left-turn-only lane Closed

While the lane marking is perfectly clear and the traffic signals reflect the change, the overhead signs have not been redone and no notice of a "Traffic Pattern Change" has been posted on Sunnybrook. The center lane continues to have people wanting to drive straight across New Bern. How long is is going to take before DOT and the City catch up with what is being done?

Thanks for this info. Two right turn lanes will be helpful.
We definitely need better signage to alert drivers to a change in this traffic pattern. On my way home from work today I witnessed two cars (one in the left lane, one in the middle lane) compete for the same straight-ahead lane while crossing New Bern. The arrows alone will not be enough to alert drivers, especially if there are so many cars waiting in the intersection that you can't see the arrows on the pavement.

As part of the new Wake Med project at the intersection of Sunnybrook Road and Calumet Dr the signal at the intersection of New Bern Ave was revised. The channelization has been changed from dual lefts to dual rights to accommodate the large amount of right turns at this intersection. Instead of the through lane being shared with a right turn lane it is now shared with the left turn lane. There is a receiving lane for this through movement across from New Bern Ave. The City will work with the contractor and NCDOT to provide better signage to let motorist know that a change has been made.

We are still working through a contract to repair sidewalks damaged in the tornado last year. I will make sure the Public Works Department is aware of this problem, and they will put it on the repair list if it is not there already.

Interesting. Another neighbor in SE Raleigh reported an abandoned ice cream truck today in Fort Alley. I will notify Capt. Lull.

I completely understand that this is a low priority, as it should be. The neighborhood is currently on the lookout for an alleged drug-dealing ice cream truck…

Capt. Lull is balancing a lot of responsibility in the SE District with a limited number of officers. They will try to make sure this is on the route of a beat officer, but other priorities may demand that officers be dispatched elsewhere. Please be patient with them and they will try to resolve this issue.

Ok thanks for clarifying the strike system.
Also there are at least four no parking signs along this hill & a red dodge 4x4 is still parked directly beneath one sign, as of this morning.

Only if the case results in an abatement of the nuisance by the City. If the issue is cleared up within the deadline, no strike.

It is a rental — does this case earn the landlord a strike? Thanks a bunch for the speedy replies!

NCDOT is working on having lane signage installed on the signal span. The “New Traffic Pattern” sign was installed on Wednesday, 5/16 one day after the city was notified that the change had taken place. Vehicles driving straight through the intersection from the middle lane are not creating a safety issue as there are two receiving lanes across New Bern Ave. The city will continue to determine if any additional signage can be installed to clarify this situation.
