    SPEED LIMIT REDUCED Open

700 Glascock St Raleigh, NC - North Central
    reported 1 day ago
guest (Guest) about 20 hours ago

I believe the city itself has had more than an ample amount of complaints regarding this matter. there is nothing else the city council needs to do other than APPROVE this. it shouldnt need a petition or anything else. it has done numerous studies, and several inquiries into the matter. And at great expense. the evidence is overwhelming already.
they continue to study speed reduction devices on this street. allthough I believe its just about too late for those.they were in dire need 10 years ago.
Ive experienced school busses who are speeding through here, folks who use this as a "Cut through" to atlantic/capitol blvds to raleigh blvd/newbern ave, numerous commercial truck traffic and other such annoyances. Does the City Need to discuss and study weather this is a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood or I-440?
enough residents in the neighborhood have already complained regarding this matter. its well documented even right here on see click fix. all it takes is a couple of signs replaced. its simple as ordering your jimmy johns lunch.

Forgive me, "guest," if I feel compelled to offer a solution that might prove more productive than insulting the city staff.

guest (Guest) about 23 hours ago

    Mark,

I know you are trying to be helpful, but please be mindful not to overstep your bounds as RCAC Chair and answer for city staff. Processes tend to change, and in some cases there may already be something in process. Let staff answer.

    Mark Turner 1 day ago

    Hi neighbor,

Here's the city's petition for getting the speed limit reduced:
    http://www.raleighnc.gov/content/PWksTrafficEng/Documents/NeighborhoodTrafficManagementProgram/ApplicationsForms/SpeedRedPetitionProcess.pdf

Print this out and take it around for your Glascock neighbors to sign. Once 75% of your neighbors agree, the city will submit the speed limit reduction to the city council for their approval.

Feel free to call me if you have any questions. Good luck!

    Regards,
    Mark

Glad the damage wasn't to mammals, but I sure hate to see the beautiful old crepe myrtles affected.

I am very concerned for pedestrians in this area. I often feel unsafe while walking my dog.

    Emrys Treasure 1 day ago

Reckless driving is prolific in this area. The residents of Stevens Road circulated a petition last fall and successfully lowered our speed limit to 25mph. However, this has resulted in little or no improvement in reckless speeding. Cars are often observed going more than 20mph over the posted limit. The concentration of pedestrians, both from Enloe and the community, and the lack of sidewalks make this an immediate threat to public safety.

Please take this as an opportunity to enforce the posted speed limits throughout the Longview Park and Longview Gardens area (north and south of Enloe). We may not be so lucky that only landscaping and signage is the casualty of this bad behavior next time.

    Pet Waste Station Acknowledged

Culpepper Cir Raleigh, NC - East Raleigh

The two biggest poop areas are at Culpepper Circle, where there is a small park, and on Locke Lane near Enloe High School. Both are areas in which people gather, and where I've seen children, Enloe students, and pets rolling around on the ground. Animal feces can spread disease to animals and humans, and can find its way into the water supply. Plus, it's just gross.

As said in the OP, there are folks in the area who would like to take steps to get more of these stations. Any info would be helpful. Thank you.

I'll check with our Parks staff on the policy regarding these pet waste stations. When they've responded I will post here.

I will inform the Downtown District officers of this, but it is likely the truck is no longer there. In these cases you can get quicker response by either calling the District Police station at 919-996-3855 or by calling 911.

Car on blocks in front yard Closed

2406 Mayview Rd Raleigh, NC - Wade
    reported 1 day ago
City of Raleigh 1 day ago Issue Closed

It is not. Any property owner is allowed to have a maximum of one unlicensed vehicle in their yard, even up on blocks. Our inspectors investigated and determined that the vehicle is stable and not a danger to tip off its blocks...therefore legal.
